After sitting and working for several hours every Diplomat tends (unconciously:) ) to think about breaks. The noblest excuse for a break is to have something ot eat. Cafeteria is really the thing that unites us!

Actually it was difficult to get used to American food. And it is still difficult to eat it! Almost all the overseas Diplomats are suffering from food. And when somebody asks a Diplomat “What is the thing you are missing most of all?” don’t believe if the Diplomat says “Family, friends”. The right answer is food.

When we arrived in Washington a great question arose :”What company will be honoured to feed the BFTF Diplomats?” In the capital of America it was decided to start with traditional American food - fast food.

But noone was going to eat only American fast food. We Tracy our guide and she found a lovely place to try some Mexican food. Overseas stomachs immediately felt that one Mexican dish includes more spicies than we eat during the whole week at home. But it was a great beginning. Belarus and Turkmenistan are sharing great Mexican food heritage:

Soon after that we visited another place where everyone had an opportunity to eat as much as he could. If I ‘m not mistaken most of us ate Chinese food that was also quite new to our stomachs (actually our stomachs themselves have had more adventures than we). Look at the pictures and compare them. Maybe that will explain the title:)

The staff, our best mentors ever - civilized society

We, Diplomats, who need to study, study, and study (actually there’s also a member of the staff on the picture with us but I’m not going to tell who (s)he is )

Just a glance at these happy faces is enough to understand what food means for them. Who do you think is the hungriest? And who has eaten more than others?

Here’s Arben. He certainly likes his food

Here’s Plamena. Usually her eyes are not so big.

Here’s me (Alena). do you know what I’m doing? I have no idea

That’s a spy from the staff and our good friend As I have promised not to tell his name I won’t do it now. If you have any ideas who he is send me an email ( alena.kudzko@gmail.com)

40 students and the staff arrived at Washington! Watch out, People of Washington! If you see 50 students in the same green T-shirts don’t be afraid! You can easily recongnize them. They are not dangerous. They can just walk around the city and take a picture of every building, stone or monument they see. Green T-shirts can also run at night at a high speed as they are late on their bus. Green T-shirts are always looking for food. If you see Green T-shirts please show them the way to the nearest shop or at least make some pictures of them. But be patient! Green T-shirts usually make the same picture using 20 or 30 different cameras:) For example the picture below was made using 19 cameras. And it’s not a limit:) . Crazy Green T-shirts

We immediately began our attack on historical places and museums. No wonder everyone wants to be a significant part of history. That’s me pretending to rule the Capitol.

The Capitol wasn’t the only official building under attack. Look, we tried to go to the White House and Discuss some very important issues with the President, but unfortunately ,we had too little time to do it and we decided to reschedule our meeting with American President.

We’re in a great hurry because we wanted to visit all the musems but museums were even in a greater hurry as they managed to close just before our arrival. We think museums were very afraid of us.

We have several lectures a day and manage to visit different places. For the last two days organisators and lectures have been doing everything possible and impossible to inspire us to become a journalist. The result of their actions is not available now. Please ask us later

It’s really hard to listen to something after you’ve slept for about 4 hours. But Diplomats are able to do everything!

Today (July 18, 2007 - I couldn’t remember the day, I thought it was 15 ) we had something extremely interesting. In the morning discussions about internet and jounalism and free press wake up everyone very quickly.

The afternoon’s lecture began with something forgotton - with Russian words “День добрый”. That was enough to inspire all the auditory. And who can stay indifferent after the meeting with the President of the NPR, the Former President of Radio of Liberty ……….. Kevin Klose?

Diplomats really have to know everything…

While all the students in the world are having holidays Diplomats of BFTF are working to make the world more prosperous. Native speakers of more than 30 landguages Diplomats admit Enlgish as the working language of the BFTF. That fact alone is the best proof that globalization exists.
So globalization was the problem No 1. Since the beginning of the classes globaliztion has followed us everywhere. When anybody sees an African American and a Chinese playing soccer the only thing you can think about is globalization. Noone even wanted to take a picture of McDonald’s (while every other object was carefully pictured by dozens of overseas cameras).

We’ve been met by the most wonderful staff I’ve seen in America:) To learn more about the place we’re living in and just to have fun we played a game. The task was to find the given places and to make photos of them. I can hardly understand how one of the group managed to do that! We were wandering around for a long time but found only some of the places. We asked local students to help us, but it was not very easy not to get lost So we gave up the idea to become the leaders of the game. We didn’t lose our time running around, we made as many pictures as we could. So I guess we became the winners as we made most pictures than anyone else made. And here’re we, resting during the game.
